status bar icon not in the manual

I have a weird icon that appeared on the middle of my status bar that looks like an old fashioned telephone. It looks like a receiver ob top and buttons on the bottom. It is located next to my blue wifi icon. Its driving me crazy!

It may actually be from an app you installed. Somewhere SallyC has a list of icons but that one sounds new. Any recent apps you've installed that might have that icon?

okay I am going to try to attach my screen. Its right next the silent mode and 4g it looks like a phone with buttons. I didnt download any new apps. I checked all over and can't find what it could be!

I honestly have never seen that icon before, I'm sure someone here has tho..

Maybe some type of keyboard (looks like an old fashion typewriter), phone dialer, contacts app. I have never seen it before either. Go into play store, look at all the apps you have installed and see if there are any that make sense to use a notification icon like that.

Wow, mystery solved. I just tested on my phone and it is TTY enabled... settings / call settings / TTY mode. TTY on makes it appear, TTY off it disappears.
