status bar and data connection question

I have just switched from a nokia n900 to the far better droid and I have a quick question.
on the n900 the signal bars were accompanied by either a 2, 3 or 3.5 to signify the network connection speed but on my droid I get an H, what does that mean?

The "H" icon I believe stands for either HSPA or HSPDA. It is as far as I have read either comparable to 3G or a slightly enhanced version of 3G
