Sprint lost the wireless broadband gamble early by betting on WiMAX initially. They are working hard to make up for that mistake though and have just added 45 new markets to their ever growing lineup of areas with the superior 4G LTE technology. This brings their total up to 230+ and still counting. Here's the list of new markets and a source link below:

By the time they get full 4G LTE coverage, 5G (or something else) will be out. Sprint was supposed to have their "Network Vision" fully implemented by now.

They can say anything they want, and keep adding these supposed markets as LTE ready, but from what I am hearing out there is that their network still stinks, especially here in NYC.
