Sony just unveiled three new Xperia line Android smartphones for this year at MWC. These new phones are their Xperia NXT series, and have the following names: Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U. We only have a few details from the MWC show, and will share more as they become available. Here is a breakdown of what we know:
The Xperia S is the flagship
  • Unknown - Likely a Dual-core CPU
  • 4.3" Screen with new "White Magic" technology - will improve displaying images under bright sunlight, and provides twice the brightness compared to other smartphones
  • 8-megapixel camera with Sony’s Fast Capture technology - records 1080p video
  • NFC Smart Tag system
The Xperia P is the mid-range device
  • 1GHz Dual-Core Processor - No more details given
  • 4' screen with the same "White Magic" tech
  • 8-megapixel camera with Sony’s Fast Capture technology - records 1080p video
  • NFC Smart Tag system
The Xperia U is the Budget-device
  • 3.5" screen - No specific word on the "White Magic" tech, but likely NOT
  • 5-megapixel camera with Sony’s Fast Capture technology - 720p video
  • Includes a transparent divider at the bottom that separates the main part of the phone from a customizable and interchangeable "chin" that you can get in many colors - also the translucent button strip can change color to match the on-screen theme, as well as to match the predominant color in your photos
Below is a video of the Xperia U and its customizable chin. We will update you as more details become available.
