Someone can use Fring, Nimbuzz or Skype to make calls?

Hmmm, SipDroid is working fine here on my Milestone - it's only Skype via Fring and Nimbuzz that aren't working. Are you hooked up via PBXes.org? That did the trick for me... Now if only Skype would work...
Is there any way to hook the Skypeout account with pbxes.org? Skype's rates and service are fine for me and I tried to learn a bit about the SIP thing and it's too complicated, plus there are millions of providers and I already trust Skype, don't want to start jumping from company to company until I find a good one.
I also have lots of Skype (over PC or other smartphones) contacts I wanna call ^^.

Thanks,
Rodrigo.

Good news Rodrigo:

The upcoming Fring version works on the Milestone... I'm beta-testing right now, and the Skype functionality is working fine. Should be out in a few days :icon_ banana:

Why dont you guys use the original skype client for android?

Because there is no original Skype client for Android. Skype Lite is a poor excuse for a Skype app (only chat via IP, voice runs over regular cellular calls)...

It baffles me, to tell the truth, that Skype haven't seen fit to provide us with a halfway decent app - they've managed to do it for the iPhone and WinMo...

Fring updated to 1.2.0.25. Says they fixed the Milestone issues.

Mic doesn't work for me (tried on incoming calls only). Outgoing calls make it crash instantly.
I tried reinstalling, rebooting, installing again. No success.

Rodrigo.

I have tested the Milestone with Nimbuzz. Skype calling works only over 3G (the WiFi renders the audio off) Even then, only managed a huge delayed talk with the wired headset on. After that, couldn't talk. Only listen. :(

Any luck with placing a call over Wifi and 3G, w/o using the headset?

I'm using fring 1.2.025 and I'm having a strange problem. It picks up my voice for the audio out, but plays it back sloowwww. tried it with the test call contact and tried using skype out, both on wifi and 3g.

hmm actually... I just tested my mic using the droid record app, and it does the same thing. this is strange, i'm going to reboot

Update: that fixed it. not sure what was causing it, I had been installing and uninstalling apps all day, maybe that had something to do with it, but it sounds good now.

I've installed fring 1.2.0.25 in my milestone. Outgoing crashing, incoming doesn't work. :/

i dont think iv eheard anyone with milestone having this fully working. i've got droid.
might be your provider blocking traffic or something (although should work on wifi if that is the case hmm

nimbuzz working on skype calls :D make sure u get the censor taken off the interent if your with t-mobile as it didnt work until i did that. although it always worked via wifi

I installed Fring 1.2.0.26 today on my droid, and my wife's droid. I was able to make VOIP calls over both 3g, and also WIFI (forced wifi by putting the phone in airplane mode, then turning on wifi).

Another friend of mine also installed it. I was able to test from my phone to two different droids.

The calls all worked ok - no problems with the mic. Chat messages also work, including to MSN live. However for calls I did have intermittent voice breakups. I suspect bandwidth issues as it was much worse over 3G than it was over wifi, and over wifi, it came and went.

Now that I figured out how its working, I want to try using the Skype add on to call to a land line but thats for another day.

The breakup issues were annoying, but did not render the connection unusable.

My primary usage is going to be calling home when I travel internationally.
