Some Bugs Found on The GNex Could Be Part of The Delay!

This has been written by an guy on another Forum that has the GNex. Let me know what you Think!!!

4.0.2 better fix a few major bugs and I hope its almost finish because this is definitely in my opinion the reason for delays. Trust me until they fix this you don't want the phone. Not being able to enjoy what it can do is more frustrating than not having it...trust me.

Now I don't root and all that so take it for what you will...but if you can fix signal outages for over an hour...not being able to switch to 3g only....not having service to place calls when you are showing three bars....and oh yea having no sound emit from your speakers....then by all means keep being frustrated. As for the rest of us just wait until that damn update is ready.

More likely a faulty model since no one else has reported the issue. That's what warranties are for

I see no sources to his claims over on that forum though? Anyone else know where I can see a source displaying these problems he's stating?

If Verizon would come out and say "the phone is delayed because of serious bugs in the software that make the device practically unusable, but we're working to release it as soon as possible", I for one would be a lot more patient. It's the total silence that's frustrating.

Well since he has tue phone and is experiencing the problems. I would guess the source would be himself.

They would NEVER do that. Reason being; Saying anything has bugs, serious or otherwise would completely dampen the consumer response to the product upon release. Think about it; if Ford came out and said that they were delaying the release of a car due to serious software bugs; people would totally pass on it when it came out. Sure a few would still purchase but those "few" would be people who had to knowledge of any issue to begin with. Such is the case with cell phones. Those who frequent the forums are sizable enough where Verizon would never publicly delay a phone's release due to serious bugs. Patience has less to do with it than a big Ole CYA for Verizon (Samsung/Google as well). Negative press just prior to a release is damning the phone's retail capabilities.

As to the person claiming the phone has serious bugs....... I call bs...... I'd like some real proof that the person not only has the phone but it is activated as well.

I think that one reason for the delay might be that they didn't want two OTAs overlapping too much - the Bionic soak test started last weekend and the rollout started yesterday, and my understanding from other threads/forums is that the Nexus is supposed to take an OTA as soon as it's activated. Perhaps Verizon wanted to clear some bandwidth by getting a decent number of the Bionic OTAs out of the way before launching the Nexus?

My source says 4.0.2 didn't fix all the bugs and that guy needs to update his phone.

And seeing as how 4.1 was supposedly ready to go by the 8th or 11th, I'm not certain it fixed everything either.

But 4.1.0 has already been pushed out to testers a couple of weeks ago or longer so we know that resolved a lot of issues and improved signal strength. It has also been suggested/posted that Verizon will have an OTA updated pushed out on launch day.
