Solid or Flashing LED

Hey all just a quick question.
My wife and I recently purchased a couple of S4s. One thing I have noticed is that when I receive a notification my LED stays on solid while my wifes flashes. I can find nothing in the settings to change this. Am I missing something in the settings? The only difference in the phones is the colors.
Thanks I advance.

My notifications always result in a blinking or flashing LED (of various colors that I select). For which specific app does your LED stay solid and what is the color?

Bob... It is all notifications on either phone. Mine stays solid and hers flashes.

Bob,
In the LED settings the following are checked.
My phone, charging, notifications, voice recording. Low battery is unchecked. Wifes phone is checked the same.
The only difference I can find is that I use handcent text app. It's not really the default app. I use it more for individual text ring tones. I have checked those settings and have disabled the app. Don't think it is related to the handcent app.
I probably would have never given it a second thought if I hadn't noticed my wifes. Just would have figured it was SOP.

I don't have an explanation, then. Solid LED lights indicate things other than Notifications. My notifications blink in the different colors I selected (Mail = green, Facebook = blue, and text = red).

I didn't like the stock settings for the LED so I changed to an app called Light Manager. It's free and it works great. Lets you change up the colors of the LED for different notifications as well.

Did you check each of the apps for which you wish to receive a notification to make sure that the "Show notifications" is checked? You can do this with Application Manager.

I have noticed that my handcent notifications are solid lights, and my emails, Facebook, etc are flashing lights. All my LED Settings are on. I too got handcent for the custom ringtone options and general customization offered by the app, and was happy to see that it's led lights were easy to differentiate from the system notifications and whatnot. Not sure why yours would be sold for all types of notifications, but perhaps the troubleshooting should start in handcent? Just my two cents.

Hey all,
I checked everything out you recommend. It all seemed to be working fine. I am starting to wonder if it is an issue with handcent. I will uninstall and go back to stock settings for messages and see if that changes anything. Thanks for all the input and information.

Hey all,
We'll I think handcent was the issue. I uninstalled the app and everything works just as it is supposed to. So problem solved.
I used the app on my rzr max and just transferred it with the upgrade. So never really knew the potential of the stock program. Was quite pleased to find that I could add personalized message tones to contacts. So no real need for handcent.
Thanks for the help and information.

Glad you solved the problem.

Keep in mind that if you do end up using a 3rd party messaging app in the future that it could interfere with your notification light settings. Make sure if you you're using another messaging app as the default that you turn off your settings/notifications in the stock messaging app to prevent any conflict.
