Slow droid camera?

So LOVE LOVE LOVE my droid,
but the camera is VERY slow to me.

Whether I click the camera button to take a picture or tap the screen to take a picture, I'm holding the phone way to long for a simple picture.....

anybody else having this problem?
any resolutions?

I found that using the camera button, hold it half way as you would a regular camera to get the camera to focus. Once it focuses, it will beep and the cross hairs will turn green, and it becomes much more responsive and quicker to take a shot then if you were to press the camera button fully down.

I tried two camera programs from the Market. I settled and still use Pro Zoom 5X. It is much faster and seems to focus better.

me too but still slow if you are looking to catch moving objects

the camera blows so bad on the droid. i try to take pics of my cat and they never come out right because of this problem, even if you hold the button down for a sec, it still 2 seconds later it takes the picture. not to mention the quality of the picture does not look like it was taken with a 5mp camera. grainy as hell sometimes. and yes i updated the firmware on dec 10th. only fixed the camera quality slightly.
