sleep death after root

After flashing any rom that I've tried , when my screen times out i cant get it to cut back on. Have to pull battery to fix. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with my wife's fascinate. I found that I had her settings on her setcpu too low, so once it went to sleep, she had to pull the battery in order to start the phone again.
