Signature error on download "official" rom versions

Hey this is a noob question, I have downloaded several of the "official" updates, and I am using stock everything except root. I get into the recovery and attempt to flash the update and it fails with the not signed error? So what am I doing wrong? All the Information says to use the stock recovery.

Another newb here having issues with the E:signature verification failed. I've already rooted my phone with One Click Root and installed R3Blurred v2.0 when I first got my Bionic but now having difficulty installing Purity 2.4. Following the instructions loading the Purity BAS first but when attempting to install from recovery I encounter the signature problem. I've tried copying the file via cable as well as directly to the SDcard but get the same problem. I've also verified the MD5 with Astro and it's a perfect match. Any ideas?
