What does 1X signal mean? I get this in certain parts of my house. The phone is two weeks old and wonder if *228 would help or am I just in a weaker 3G area?

I use to get this when I had my D1. Since upgrading to the D2 I'm 3G all the time.
1x means you're not getting a good digital signal. Since it's in your house that you see this you do have a couple of options. You can call Verizon and ask them to check the signal in your area. Just in case there is a problem with a tower. I kind of doubt that though because usually you won't get anything if that's the situation.
You can purchase signal expanders for your home. I'm not sure of the price, something tells me it's either 100.00 or 150.00 but I could be wrong.
Not sure I want to invest $249. I only have the issue at home and I'm in a rule area. As I type this the signal goes from 1X with one bar to 3G with two to three bars.
