Should Google app be set to conserve battery

It's using 23 percent of my battery is that normal? I set it to go to sleep will that cause issues

Normally don't go by their percentages as even though sometimes you might see a high percent the amount of time the app is using is not high... But I think you're okay you'll have to just monitor

I was reading if I put to sleep it disables ok Google and search

I don't like to turn anything off that's just me ...bump charge my phone if needed but most days I make it easily to the evening
