Setting up old g galaxy for music use only

I want to make og galaxy phone work without activating it. Just to us it as my music player while at work. How do I go about getting the phone to work without activating it for data. It would by nice if I could use the phone on Wi-Fi but anything will do

I think he means the original Galaxy, probably the Fascinate. I still have mine and it works great. Although it moves like my grandpa who's wearing two snuggies, but for a music device connected via WiFi it should be fine.

I am using the fascinate, I think I did a factory reset before putting it back in its box. It starts by asking which language, then it says press send to activate or cancel. Those are the only options.

Hitting cancel should bypass the activation process and allow you to connect to wifi.....I think....I am not familiar with that phone

Without a sim card in it you'll be fine to go through the partial set up process. It needs to recognize English (or whichever language) in order to operate. Try canceling out like Droid Princess suggested and you should be able to bypass the majority of the setup/activation process.

Select your language, press the Emergency button, dial *#83786633, and then press the Home key

Great video, thanks so much for the info. Now I'll be able to use my old phone at work for music and not have to worry about breaking my current phone
