I'm not sure how to set my text message tones to the music I have? I'll go to the settings and from there to notification sounds but the ringtones I have don't show up on the list. Assistants would be greatly appreciated.

Use a file manager called astro. Look on your SD card for a media file. You move sound files as you choose to. Ill my post with a screen shot in a minute. If you long press on a sound file from SD card it should give you the option to set ringtone.

All you would need to do is copy whatever ringtone you want into the notifications folder, then reboot....it will then show up when you pull up the noti settings
