I just rooted my D2. I've always used setcpu in the past on rooted D1s, but now im hearing so much about jrummys app. Which is preferred? Also, I already tried setcpu and it wont let me OC. Do I need to flash a new kernel?
There are no kernals with the d2. The easiest way to overclock is to pick up jrummys app. Also it has all the functionality of setcpu so its really all you need.

So if the settings are not set for boot... do they immediately take effect once the droid begins? I guess my question is, how do I re-apply the settings after the boot (I surely don't have to reset everything again)?
And just wanted to say thank you for all of your help... I look to your posts regularly for advice and know that it must get tiring of hearing the same noobish questions all the time.
No it never gets old, I really do enjoy it. Since you don't set it on boot what you will do after a reboot is open the app back up and overclock it again (set scaling frequencies>ulv>1.2) but all of your profiles will be saved.
