Sending Email/Earthlink

Hi, I just purchased my Droid X a couple of weeks ago. My earthlink account is set up and I can receive emails just fine but am not able reply or send emails through earthlink. Anybody else having this problem with Earthlink mail? Please advise!

In case you have not fixed the issue I was having a similar issue. Here is how I resolved it.

While on the messaging page press the MENU key at bottom.

Touch MANAGE ACCOUNTS

select the account you are having issues with

select OUTGOING SERVER

top box should be "smtpauth.earthlink.net"

next box (port) should be "587"

next box (username) should be "your user [email protected]"

next box enter your password

both USE SECURE CONNECTION and VERIFY CERTIFICATE should not be checked

touch OK

Next screen touch OK again.
If you fail to touch OK again whatever you entered on the OUTGOING SERVER page will revert to what was there before you began. This drove me nuts for awhile.

Thank you so much! It's working perfectly. The employees at Verizon where I purchased my Droid couldn't even correct it for me. You are awesome.
