self - autolaunched apps

love my droid.
but somethig scary is happening.

I have loaded the taskiller and taskcontrol apps.

after stopping all apps using either of these apps, if i leave my phone alone, a very large number of apps will self start. and run in the background. voice search, calander, corporate calander,...etc.

I'm sure this is a battery kill...
how is this happening ... it happens every time!
how can i stop it???

Please don't bother using a task killer. They interfere with the normal way the Android OS operates.... This is not like a Blackberry or WinMo OS where you need to kill apps.

Task killers are useless. Those apps are not slowing the CPU down, No more Blackberry mentality...

Those apps play a vital part in the Andriod OS and some that you kill are required for proper syncing

mostly because of data transfer, others because the devs cut corners and made them start on their own(ie ive never opened Amazon MP3, yet it always runs), if you start a program and hit home, it still runs

all selfstart.

the memory is shown eing cut down to 34!?

My advice would be to not use a task killer and get a internal memory widget, you will sleep alot better: )

And don't panic about memory usage. Android treats free memory as wasted memory, so it does it's best to use all the memory possible for caching, buffering, etc. If the OS needs more memory, it will free buffers and kill tasks to free it up. That's one of the reasons Android apps are supposed to be ready to save and restore their state at any given time, as the OS may signal them to close so it can use the memory for the foreground task.
