Security flaw on the Droid

Why didn't they mention that you can physically see the path of the pattern lock? LOL. I'm pretty sure there was a thread on this forum where someone's young child figured out the lock pattern.

You can disable the display of the path in the security options.
I know. But wasn't what I was referring to. Can you disable the trail your finger makes sliding across the screen? :icon_ devil: as in a greasy finger track.....

Who actually turns that on anyway ... I am annoyed enough with the "Slide to Unlock" feature. I would never turn on the pattern feature too.

Do you not use your phone after unlocking? You're going to put MORE greasy tracks on it within seconds of use.
I don't even use pattern lock. There's been numerous people that have complained about the 'tracks' being left.
I don't see a need for the pattern lock at all... keep your phone with you. Real simple :)

I wouldn't use the pattern lock if I were you guys. I had it on and a friend of mine was trying to unlock it. After several attempts, it make you wait a certain amount of time before you can try it again. If you do it more after that it will lock the phone out and required your google login to unlock. This is where the bad stuff happened.

I entered my google info and it would NOT unlock! For the next hour and a half I kept putting my info in and nothing. I didn't want to do a factory restore and lose all my stuff so the next day I took it to a Verizon store to see if they could help. USELESS! It was an excersize in futility. They kept asking if I was sure I had the right password and I told them, "Yes I've had this google account for almost 5 years!" I asked her to see if she could call someone to help her but she insisted she had all the info on her computer and saw nothing she could do but a Factory reset (Which I had to show her how to do, thanks to this forum!) I still don't know why it would not take my login and password, but I will never use that pattern lock thing again.

There's a thread in the forums (I can't find it right now) that explains how to get around the 'lockout' without doing a factory reset :)

Wow. I'll try to search for it. That will come in handy. Unfortunately, at the time it happened, I was using the phone as my sole source of phone and internet. I was completely cut off.
