Search contacts by LAST name?

A rep at Verizon transfered contacts from Treo to Droid - nice. All info is there, listed alphab. by FIRST name. Can't find a way to change to LAST name - any ideas?

Seems the only way to sort by last name is to export the contacts to a csv file, swap first and last names and then re-import to gmail....
