SD Card(?) Issue

I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, because I'm not sure exactly what may have caused it, but...

This morning, I was playing around, trying to add some custom icons for use with LP, and making some of my own. I'd added some I'd gotten from another thread last night, and was doing the same this morning. I also added a couple of my own attempts, wanting to see how they came out. Here's my problem:

1. After the last icon pack I copied to my card (via laptop/USB), it took forever to load my gallery
2. It took forever and a day this morning, with only 3 additions (and required 2 batt pulls); when it finally came up, I'd lost 80% of the Gallery items I had, including unrelated pics I'd either taken with the D1 camera, or important-to-me pics I'd drag-and-dropped from my laptop.

Any ideas what happened, anyone?

you should never have to do a battery pull on a android phone...... I'm going to assume you came from a blackberry but you need to get away from that mentality that a battery pull fixes all problems.

you may want to get an app call "SD Rescan" and run that. it will do exactly what it sounds like.

Guilty...and Palm before that. For what it's worth, the battery pull has worked many times on my D1. Usually, it's turned out that mulitple apps were running, maybe updating, etc. simultaneously.

I've followed the different threads about using/not using various task managers and have gone both routes (currently not using one regularly).

Tell me something, i've posted this many times, why is it when my YAHOO/SBC account stops working. I have to pull my battery to get i to work again?????

UPDATE: I've run SDrescan and there's no noticeable effect. Not only was I not able to recover any of my lost data, there's still still an appreciable lag in loading Gallery items.

I'm guessing my card may be bad. I'll get a replacement and see if that works out.

you may also want to reformat the card to see if that corrects any issues.

copy all the files to a PC then use the phone to format the card.... then copy everything back. I ended up with a corrupted card and this solved my issues a while back.
