screen keeps locking during call, how to stop this madness?

Hi there, So Im on a call yesterday and as i was on the call I set it to speaker and went to check to see if a had gotten a text.

When I pulled the phone off my ear in call my screen locked, WTF?
I unlock, it locks backup again..as im fighting pull down my notification bar, I hit home, screen on, screen off...


Any known causes or fixes for this?.

seems to be intermittent as well..

I was having that problem with my droid 2 global I did some research and downloaded an app called Proximity screen off and it solved my problems. Hope the helps
