screen goes black when i put my hand over the two dots

My screen is going black all of a sudden when i put my hand over the two dots just to the left of the motorola logo at the top of the phone. What are those two dot sensor thingies and what is going on? How do I stop my phone from going black?

No, all of the time. It goes black for a second or two when I put my hand over those two dots at any time. If I leave my hand over those dots the screen stays black. Move my hand away and the screen comes back on.

They're proximity sensors that turn off the screen when placing the phone near your face during a call. They're supposed to be off all other times.

It did it for two days but it suddenly just stopped doing it just like it started. I'm glad cause that was annoying hope it stays not doing it.
