screen display behaving differently when turning off

today my x2's screen starting turning off differently. instead of just immediately going black, it now turns off like an old tube tv. the display morphs from the edges into the center of the screen before going off. looks just like the old tube tv's of yesteryear. anyone else experience this? possibly a sign of a hardware issue?

nevermind. its cuz i turned on the show all animations setting. cool.
