Saving a sound in text message

How do you Save a sound in text message

I've gotten several text messages that included sounds but when I go to save the sound it won't let me. Am I doing something wrong? Can we save sounds that we receive in text messages???

The options it gives me when I hold down my finger on the sound clip is: forward, view slideshow, save attachment, lock, view details, and delete.
