Tonight Samsung is holding a press event to showcase their Galaxy Note II. The phone has already been officially announced on several carriers, but it seems that Samsung wants to amp up the hype machine some more. The teaser for this PR event is "The Next Big Thing is Already Here." Could Samsung be trying to steal a little bit of Apple's thunder by holding a press event just a couple of days after? Of course, this press event was teased at the end of September, but it kind of got lost in all of the hullabaloo of the other big PR announcements.
We'll let you know if anything exciting happens at the event tonight, but more than likely this is simply just a full commercialized event designed to build up excitement for the launch of the G-Note 2 next week. Of course, that's pretty thrilling all by itself, but the extra enthusiasm from Samsung is still appreciated.
