Samsung is Screen

Most recently my screen goes totally black when I'm on a call and takes minute to get it back up. Have also noted battery drain but can find no app or program out of the normal that might be causing the problem. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Yes the screen goes black when you lift the phone to your ear, it's normal, as to save battery power.
