Samsung has been giving Galaxy S owners a confusing ride for the last couple of weeks. At first, they said that the Galaxy S would not be able to take Ice Cream Sandwich, then they decided to reevaluate that position, after an outcry in the community. Afterward, they indicated that a "Value Pack" would be offered with some limited ICS features. Unfortunately, they are now saying that the "Value Pack" will not be available either. A Samsung spokesperson said the company won't be releasing the update due to the hardware specs of the older Galaxy devices, and further shared that the products "are limited to and fully optimised for the Gingerbread experience."
It looks like its up to the Android community to come to Galaxy S owners rescue now, if they want some form of ICS on their device.
