Samsung Galaxy Note 7 receives FCC certification!

This morning 6 North American variants of the Galaxy Note 7 have received certification from the FCC. The models are SM-N930V (Verizon), SM-N930A (AT&T), SM-N930P (Sprint), SM-N930T (T-Mobile), SM-N930R4 (U.S. Cellular) and SM-N930W8 (Canada).

We are hoping that all of them will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset carrying a quad-core CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. In most other regions of the world, the Galaxy Note 7 will likely be driven by the Exynos 8893 SoC. The Note 7 is expected to feature a 5.7 or 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display, but a listing from Zauba and export company in India left the door open for a 6-inch version of the device. It should come with a 1440 x 2560 resolution.


With the FCC certification, Samsung can check off one more task that needed to be done before the company unveils the device on August 2nd.

FCC documents show that a Samsung device, SM-N930U, has antennas open for all four major carriers in the US, as well as the typical Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi bands. There are specific carrier variants supposedly out there in the land of benchmarks, but a quick look at the FCC database picked up nothing.

The unlocked version of the Galaxy S7 recently and officially went for sale in the US.
