Do you remember that oft-rumored "premium" version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 that didn't seem to materialize? It turns out, it might not just be a myth after-all. A new Samsung Galaxy device showed up in a GFXBenchmark with some higher-end specs than the current Galaxy S5. It also happens to have a model number that makes it likely to be a version of the Galaxy S5.

This previously unknown SM-G906S boasts the following spec-list:

  • 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 system chip
  • Adreno 420 graphics
  • 3GB RAM
  • 5.2-inch QHD (1440x2560) display
  • 16-megapixel camera
Although there is no confirmation that this device is a Galaxy S5 variant, (or that it actually exists at all), whatever device this turns out to be its specs push the boundaries for sure. What do you think it is?

Ew! *shiver* I just got a tingling sensation down in my nether regions. 0.0

This sounds like what I was expecting and hoping for.

I hope it's as least as narrow as the S4. If this is the S5 Prime and it's as wide as the S5 I'll probably pass on it too. I'm really liking the new ONE anyway. (No, not obama)

Verizon has pre-orders today for the S5 with delivery on 4/11/14. Wonder if I should wait to see if this premium phone comes out

When benchmarks like that come out for a phone(if its real) what is the timeframe for it to come out for sale?
