Rooting stock 2.2

I need to root my gf's phone, but she doesn't want any ROMs or anything. I rooted her phone before with this tutorial:

Will this tutorial still work? If not, do they have an updated version of this out?

Yeah I did that and it totally f'ed up the phone, I had to odin a previous version back onto the phone.

Any others that actually work?

OK...I just succeeded rooting stock 2.2 (VZW Froyo) with keeping all data...

Help

So I rooted my gfs phone using the method above in dktk’s post, and everything went great! Except now she cannot send text messages? She sends them and I never get them, but she receives mine. Any ideas? IS this because of the root? Another problem?

Do other people get her text messages?

is there a +1 in front of your number on her phone?

Rooting should have not affected the text messaging.
