I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to root the thunderbolt running 2.3.4, I know that there's an easy way to do it on 2.2.1 but I haven't seen anything on rooting it with gingerbread

So a while ago I must have accidentally ok'd the ota update to 2.3.4 which unrooted my phone, and since then I have been unable to get a straight answer on whether or not there is a way to reroot my phone now that it's running 2.3.4. My question to you is is there a way to do this, and if so how?

Thanks in advance!

Alright thanks! I really appreciate your help :)

edit: Also, is there some sort of backup of my phone that I should be doing prior to trying to root my phone just in case I accidentally brick it?

You can't make a backup of your system, until you are rooted.

Have the fastboot file and necessary failsafe software handy if you don't feel comfortable.
