Rooting basics?

I just got the X and love it. Thing is I want to do more with it. Droid has won me over but there are a few things I was hoping a root would make my X do. I have read that it can expand the battery life take screen shots make it faster and so forth. Some of the 'bonus' features I am looking for is can u ever read emoji through a rom? Or some of the games I like can u download more than once? Maybe I am asking my phone to be a lil too much like iPhone but if anyone could give me tips on this I would greatly appreciate it! And I have rooted my phone yet I am still wanting to make sure I do it right the first time.

there are plenty emoji apps in the market to help with that.
i dont understand your other question about downloading games more than once.

as far as rooting your phone, just use z4root. realy easy.
