At one point, we had over 30 devices on a BES server. Last year I had to rebuild because it died, and we were down to about 12 devices. The last one went offline this morning. RIP.

And to think RIM was at the top of the game in 2007/2008. This is what happens when corporate complacency disconnects the company from the user (end user or B2B partner):

Indeed...I remember having admin privileges on a BES at my last job (2007-2009). It too saw the most traffic of the mobile devices...we had a GoodLink server that got decomm'd while I was there and there was a small upcoming surge of ActiveSync folks a la iPhone.

At my current job, I know of 2 people with a Blackberry. We have them use AstraSync to get their email (we actually use Zimbra for our email server). Other people with mobile devices are either on an Android or iPhone.
