He was Eric Clapton's first influence. He was definitely cool. Rip.

Of course we learned about him in grade school music class, but I didn't get into him until much later. Went to a "BB King Blues festival" featuring him, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Susan Tedeshi and I pretty much became a Blues Boy.

Seen him a couple times at the Riverwalk Blues Festival in Ft Lauderdale back in the late 90s. Such a memorable experience.
