Ringer and notification volume low...

I have noticed on my Nexus that no matter how loud I turn the volume the ringer and notification volumes are quite low and I am missing calls and emails.

Is there a way to fix this?

Try Volume + from the play store, otherwise you can root and install a custom rom, most of those have the volume fixed up...
