When I bought my younger brother the Droid Inc 2, I got it for $69 at Costco and it was still $179 at my Verizon store.

I'm assuming those were 2-year contract prices?

It also came with a car charger and a case.

Costco has great deals on phones, I was going to buy the Bionic from Costco, but I wasn't aware that the big box stores don't get phones until a week or two after their normal release.

Looks like it's going to be the $299 we all dreaded. Oh well, I'll still get it unless my family switches to Sprint beforehand (ugh).

I'm disappointed but not surprised at this price. I would expect the price of the next big phones (Vigor, iPhone, Prime, SG2 if 4glte) to be at least the same. Guess I'll have to wait on buying some of the accessories.

Not that I'm surprised it's $299, but I think it's very likely we'll see it at $199 in a week. Big box stores drop the prices quick.
