Restoring D2G to original

ok, so i may have to return my phone due to some issues with it (constant resetting) I have it rooted and all that Jazz and i know they don't like that kinda stuff. I noticed there is a factory reset on the phone in the settings. Can i do that and have it all happy and ready for return, or do i have to do something else. I've seen something about going into recovery and rebooting or something along those lines.

thanks in advance!

P.S The phone was doing it before I started poking around its insides, it stopped for awhile and it started again.

You'd be better served to flash the SBF file and then let the phone update OTA to the latest software. Then you can take it in and say that you just factory reset it, and experienced the malfunctions you described.
