Recording video without audio?

Quick question about the camcorder abilities on the Droid X:

When using the video (camcorder) is there any way to mute the microphone (and audio recording in the video)? I'd like to take a quick and simple video but don't want it to record the outside sound. Is this possible, and if so, how does that work?

Just push the mute button that's on the screen while recording. Easy.

If you plug in a pair of earphones that don't have a mic attached while you record it should work. I tried everything and figured this out. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your findings, though the last post in this thread was 2011, so chances are others have moved on.

Good info for other with a similar issue though.
