Recorded volume playback

Is there a way to hook my Droid up to a stereo or speakers for increased volume? I'm in a band and I like to record our practices (using a recording download from the market) then play them back while I play / practice over the recording. But I need MORE VOLUME! A lot.

Have you tried the headphone jack into a preamp?
