When I get a text message, and my phone is sleeping, the screen doesnt turn on, I have to hit the power key to wake the phone up and see the text. How do I get it so when the phone is asleep and I get a message, it wakes up..

Please help, this is sooooooooooooo annoying

I use Handcent and there is a notification setting enable popup and popup settings. Not sure how the stock app functions but there should be a similar setting.

Hope this helps.

yeah, I use handcent too. I thought the popup was when you get a text message and the text actually pops up in the screen, I only want to see the text in the notification bar, so I disabled popups

Oh sorry I misunderstood. I do not know how to have the message display in the notification bar. Sorry!

message automatically displays in the notification bar when you first receive it.

you can have the phone wake up once you change the pop up settings. hit "screen on for pop up"

so you want an individual window to pop up when you get a message? that's a default setting.

edit: just read what you said, you should go check "restrict popup". I'm not sure if that makes the window go away, but it sounds like it does.
