Razr maxx screen turning on by itself randomly !

charged my maxx (gingerbread) last night and this morning i noticed Razr maxx screen turning on by itself randomly,just for 3 or 4 secs and it goes off again.that's weird.reception is fine thou,so thats not a problem.wifi =off,bluetooth=off

It was doing that while on the charger, right? Mine does it too while on charge once the charge level has reached 100% and charging has stopped. I speculate it has to do with how it monitors battery levels so it knows when to resume charging. Its nothing to worry about.

no it was unplugged :sad:
though i haven't installed any suspicious app,i terminated any background app in the task manager.seems problem solved for now.
here is a list of my new apps:circle battery widget and bluetooth file transfer

stopping all apps in the background could be a good way

My Maxx did that one time and it was after I used my wife's Blackberry charger..did a reboot and all was fine...learned my lesson! Stick with Moto Chargers..

This was happening to me on .211, have not seen it on .215 course I did uninstall GoLauncher and all other Go products since upgrading to .215. So maybe it was related to GO?

Yeah, I was wondering about that also. But I was at work and didn't feel like taking the time to investigate. After the reboot fixed it, I never even thought about it again until I saw this post.

Humor me... turn off your phone and remove the SD card. NOT THE SIM. use a pencil eraser and gently clean the contacts with the eraser. The blow off any debris and reinstall it.

Also, go to vzw and get another sim card.

Idk if this is your issue. But my wifes phone just started this yesterday...this cured it.

Check SMS app settings. I use GoSMS and there's a seeing that turns screen on when you get a message. I'm not sure if Handcent has such a seeing, but whatever app you use to receive messages, check for "screen on or screen unlock when receiving message" setting.

I haven't installed GoSMS.im using the stock sms app

After the ICS upgrade my Maxx was doing that as well. A fdr fixed it for a month or so, but now it's doing it again. VERY annoying. :angry:

how often it happens?did you check the background apps?(like ending unnecessary apps)
