RAZR features

Can some one for the life of me please tell me what all three of the dots are at the top left of the RAZR

1. Green notification led
2. ???????
3. ???????

I was going to buy screen savers online but they all have a space cut out for these dots, like the front face camera has, and I don't see why they can't be covered by the protector if they are just lights. I've had 4 different explanations so far from Verizon reps. I'd like a definite answer

One is proximity that's how the phone knows when you have it on ear and can dim the screen. The other is light sensor for auto screen dimming and such. As long as it was absolutely clear both could probably be covered.
