So i want to get my Droidx and also my wifes' Droidx up to date... i found the 2.3.34 Update.zip ->How to: Manually Update DROID X to Android 2.2.1 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Here is my history for my phone.

2.1 -> Leaked 2.2 -> as of today my phone reads

System Version = 2.3.15.MB810.Verison.en.US
Android Version = 2.2

I am running Apex V 1.0.2.2 But i do have a clean 2.2 backup.. So if i restore my 2.2 Backup..can i go straight to flashing this beast??

My Wifes phone..

2.1 - > OTA 2.2

She has the same system version 2.3.15 and also android 2.2.

Can i update BOTH of our Phones.. the same way??

Thanks for your time :)

If you're on the leaked 2.2 then you can't use the update.zip file. You need to use RSD Lite and the 2.3.34 SBF. It's a system only SBF so you won't lose your apps, etc.

The SBF includes some updates that the update.zip does not include and is a better way to get fully up to date anyway.

Personally I am a fan of ferrying the ota for updating. I would say back up your apps just to be safe, flash back to your 2.2 base image, grab the ota then remake your base. Apply updated themes as you want. Your wife just needs to grab the ota.

I guess i am a little confused on Both of your answers.

Flash back to my 2.2 base and then grab the OTA ?

are you saying if i flash back to my stock 2.2 backup (Which is the Leaked 2.2) i can then try and grab the 2.3.340 OTA ?

You need the file: SHADO_X6_2.3.34_SYSTEM-ONLY.sbf
