A very astute forum reader directed me to this link while we were posting back and forth regarding a black status bar for 2.2 on the X :Froyo 2.2 Dark Gray StatusBar - xda-developers
Of course, me never worrying about breaking things saw that the site had a new post for a "deodexed" version which looked much nicer than the one I had already loaded. So of course I just HAD to try it...
Ignoring the "Deodexed" warnings, I installed it - and learned that the services.jar file is definitely one that has the odex extension. So of course, my time and date are black on black now.
2 questiones: What are odexed files? And how do you Deodex them?
