Question about the keypad

When you turn the Droid sideways like this :motdroidhoriz: do you gotta use the keyboard to type or doesnt a onscreen keypad pop up?

I played with the fone at Verzion but I couldnt figure it out.

yeah just touch any bock of text, or place for text input, and the onscreen keyboard will pop up in either landscape or portrait modes
