Question about the battery

Is there a proper way to use the battery. Like with old cell phones they said to let it almost die and then charge it up. Do you have to do that with the extended battery? I normally keep my phone hooked up to a charger all day at work. I didn't know if that was bad for the battery or not.

I am all about the cycles. The more times you plug it and unplug the quicker it gets used up. Don't know how true but thats the way I do it.
