Question about GPS

I only want the Gps to come on when I am either using maps or navigation. Otherwise I want it shut off. Same thing for bluetooth. I only want it to come on when I get in my car. When I get out I want it to go off. This is for battery conservation. Know of any good apps? Thanks!

Tasker looks incredibly cool but also very complex. Is there anything simpler?

Also I have been told that if you have gps on then it's not actively running unless you are using a program that uses gps. If that's true then it shouldn't have a lot of effect on battery right?

This has been my experience.

You may find slight differences in power by keeping GPS and BT off, but the devices are effectively off and not transmitting unless your BT icon is shaded in or the satellite icon is being displayed.

For your phone to know how to connect your BT in the car, you need BT powered anyway... Not sure there's a way around this one.
