Justin CaseWhen I woke up this morning to find the above tweet in my twitter feed I had to be a bit skeptical since I have seen Justin Case troll on a few occasions. However it quickly became apparent that the tweet was not an April Fools Day joke come early. Jcase has indeed achieved root on several previously unrootablet devices. This isn't to say that these devices will ever see an unlocked bootloader or any sort of custom recovery, although they may, but the fact remains that we now have root!
The root method will currently not complete. It is not exactly Temp Root, but it is not the best setup possible. JCase already has a game plan for permanent root and is already working on that. He has been rooting devices for people, and a few hours ago requested for anyone with a Droid Mini, Droid Maxx, Or Droid Ultra to meet him in #MotoX on FreeNode. He has posted a few pictures of some of the devices that he has rooted as solid Proof!
