problems with voice search

Hello, all. I would like to use voice search to text, but when I do, it puts everything into the message portion of the text. No "to" info. Pretty annoying. I am sure this isn't the first time for you all to hear of this. Can anyone help with this?

I'm having the same problem on htc inspire. I have to say text first than tap (to) and say person.
