problems with trying to text!

okay my boyfriend has the droid and when hes trying to type a text, if his hits like a 'g' it will take him to google. or a 'y' it will go to youtube, etc. is there a way to turn this feature off? please help! its so fustrating!

i know there are some hotkeys with the keyboard, he wouldn't be happening to be holding the other button would he?

If when texting he is holding the magnifying glass icon then he is activating the hotkeys associated with gmail, youtube etc. if he isnt holding the button down himself maybe there is an issue with the keyboard that it is reading that key as being pressed even when it isnt in which case he should get it looked at at a verizon store
